Before "Manifest Destiny" was coined to cover the wars on Native Americans by white settlers, Lewis & Clark visited the Northwest to survey the land and water for Thomas Jefferson. When they arrived in the Pacific Northwest, these are the four different kinds of canoes they saw.

Illustrated by artist Jay McCrary, blessed by curators at the Burke Museum of Natural History and Native American artist/elder Bill Holm — we designed this print to celebrate the working boats and art of the NW Coast Indians.

Haida, Salish, Nuu-Chuh-Nulth and Head Canoes are all here. Printed on high quality recycled paper. "Dip, Dip and Swing."

Printed in Seattle, Washington USA
